Arrive at Bagdogra Airport and transfer to Darjeeling, the historic hill town overlooking the eastern Himalayas. After checking in to your hotel, spend the evening walking around Chowrasta, the town’s lively pedestrian square. Stop by the historic Oxford Book & Stationery Co. and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Darjeeling’s social center.

Wake early to drive to Tiger Hill for a beautiful sunrise over the Kanchenjunga range. Later stop at the Batasia Loop, a scenic spiral railway track surrounded by gardens and a war memorial. Continue on to Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the region.

Spend the morning at the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, known for its conservation of high-altitude Himalayan species including the red panda and snow leopard. Within the same complex, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, where exhibits recount the story of Everest expeditions and the achievements of Tenzing Norgay.
Travel to Chatakpur, a small eco-village located inside the Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary at nearly 8,000 feet. Spend the afternoon walking through the village and surrounding forest trails while learning about the community’s conservation initiatives. In the evening, enjoy traditional home-cooked meals with your host family.

Explore the peaceful forest landscapes around Chatakpur. Take a short trek through dense pine and oak forests to Pokhari, a sacred forest pond known for birdwatching and wildlife sightings. Later, climb the village watchtower for panoramic views across the Himalayas and the plains of North Bengal.

Return to Darjeeling and visit the tranquil Japanese Buddhist Temple, where you may hear monks chanting. Continue to the nearby Peace Pagoda, a white structure symbolizing harmony and world peace.

Enjoy a relaxed day exploring Darjeeling at your own pace. Visit historic cafés such as Glenary’s or Keventer’s for breakfast with views of the mountains. Later, explore the local markets of the Lower Bazaar or the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre for handicrafts, textiles, and local tea.

Before departing, experience a short joy ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, the famous narrow-gauge steam train that winds through the town’s streets. Continue to the historic Happy Valley Tea Estate for a brief tour and a chance to purchase authentic Darjeeling tea before leaving for Bagdogra Airport.
