Day 1 - Panjim

After your morning arrival in the capital city of Panaji, our team will escort you to your hotel for a quick check-in. Afterward, visit the historic Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church in North Goa. Here, you can explore the massive prayer hall, originally built in 1541 and reconstructed in 1600. You will also see an ancient bell excavated from the ruins of the Church of Our Lady of Grace in Old Goa. This historic bell is the second largest in the state and is beautifully displayed here for all to see. Next, visit the famous aristocratic quarter of Fontainhas to walk around its narrow streets. These heritage buildings have been beautifully preserved by the residents, who are proud of the local art. After breakfast, head over to Old Goa, the historic capital of Portuguese India until the 18th century. This historic area holds immense cultural significance, earning the entire city a UNESCO World Heritage status. Here, you can explore magnificent landmarks, including the Basilica of Bom Jesus. The cathedral highlights the grand scale of historic Goa, featuring a striking rectangular design that once welcomed close to a thousand worshippers. Inside, you can view the silver casket holding the sacred remains of Saint Francis Xavier, placed here in the 17th century. Next, visit the nearby Sé Cathedral. Having seen the second-largest bell yesterday, today you will view the famous "Golden Bell," the largest in the state and celebrated worldwide for its incredible tone. The cathedral originally featured two towers, and you can still see the elegant architecture of the preserved structure today. Continue to the Museum of Christian Art to view an impressive 500-year-old collection of holy scriptures, furniture, ornaments, and textiles. Afterward, visit the hilltop of Monte Santo to see the historic ruins of the Church of St. Augustine, once one of the grandest Augustinian churches in the Iberian world. Conclude your tour at Azulejos de Goa to admire exquisite hand-painted tiles that perfectly mirror the rich Indo-Portuguese culture of the region.

Your first stop is the magnificent Braganza House, an intricate mansion holding an exquisite collection of historical treasures. This fortress bears the marks of numerous historical battles, evident in its weathered stone walls, ancient artillery, and old prison quarters. At its heart sits a pristine white chapel, standing as a tranquil contrast to the rugged environment. After exploring the ruins, continue to the fascinating San Thome Museum, also known as "Back in Time."
