Day 1 - Shimla

Mesmerizing Toy Train Ride

After you arrive at Chandigarh our support team will transfer your luggage to the hotel and guide you through the day, starting at Kalka Railway Station. Here, board your preferred UNESCO toy train: the Himalayan Queen or Shivalik Deluxe Express. The route features over 100 tunnels, 800 bridges, and the rising peaks of the Himalayas. Shimla Railway Station will be your final stop, where we will escort you to your resort. Spend the remainder of your day enjoying the cedar valleys with a warm Shimla Chai.

Enjoy your first breakfast in Shimla before leaving for the Rashtrapati Niwas, formerly known as the Viceregal Lodge. It was the home of Lord Dufferin during the British era. The architecture is a blend of English Renaissance and Scottish Highland styles, a combination that remains one of a kind to this day. Explore the well-kept botanical garden, the blue-grey stone masonry roofing, the intricate interior woodwork, and the historic IIAS library containing a vast collection of books. In the afternoon, head over to the peak of Jakhu Hill, where Jakhu Temple resides. This shrine is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and features a giant, 108ft tall idol. You can reach the summit in four ways: on foot, by horse, by car, or via the aerial ropeway. Take in the views of the Shivalik range, then head over to Mall Road, right beside the iconic Christ Church of Shimla. Take a relaxing evening stroll, or find a spot to watch the town slowly come to life at night. Wrap up the day with a warm traditional meal at your hotel.

Day 3 - Kufri

Start the day with a visit to the Himalayan Nature Park in Kufri, passing Green Valley along the way, which features one of the densest forest covers on the continent. Inside the park, encounter high-altitude wildlife up close, including the Kashmiri stag, Bharal blue sheep, black bear, and Tibetan wolf. Next, visit Mashobra for a guided walk along the dense cedar forest, perfect for capturing the natural beauty of the landscape. You can also opt for a horseback ride along the woodland trail. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure before returning to your lodging in the evening.

Day 4 - Shimla

Day 4 is yours to enjoy at a leisurely pace. Wake up at your convenience and savor breakfast at the hotel. When you are ready to explore, head outside to visit local artisan shops and vibrant bazaars featuring authentic hand-knit clothing. Later, choose between a rejuvenating Ayurvedic spa session or a quiet afternoon in the hotel’s grand library. In the evening, walk over to a local heritage cafe to enjoy snacks paired with Himalayan tea prepared on a traditional wooden stove, bringing a memorable end to the first phase of your journey.

Day 5 - Jibhi

The second phase introduces the pristine wilderness of Himachal Pradesh. Today, leave Shimla behind and travel to Jibhi in the Banjar region, where you will stay in a premium treehouse overlooking the valley. Later, embark on a moderately challenging hike through the Himalayan cedar and oak forest to reach Kulhi Katandi. This hidden gem features dramatic rock formations and clear, emerald waters where you can take a refreshing dip or relax by the river before winding down for the evening.

Day 6 - Jalori Pass

Today is dedicated to exploring Jalori Pass. Our team will escort you to the starting point to meet your guide and begin the 3 km trek to Raghupur Fort. The trail winds through dense oak forests and steps up a few steep cliffs. At the summit, explore the moss-covered stone walls of one of the highest altitude forts in India. Take in the endless mountain views before trekking back for your return transfer to the hotel.

Day 7 - Kasol

Today, travel to the serene hamlet of Kasol, where you’ll spend the next three days. Choose between the premium campsites available: a riverside boutique camp with tent-designed rooms, or a luxurious glamping site that offers all the amenities of a high-end hotel. Spend the remainder of the daylight relaxing in your room, and later head out for an evening of cafe hopping.

Day 8 - Kasol

Enjoy your first breakfast in Kasol, and leave for the Chalal Trek afterward. This scenic trail guides you to Chalal Village through ancient pine forests along the Parvati River. After arriving, explore the alpine surroundings or take a break at a nearby cafe for local food and specialties. Next, head towards the Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara, located right by the Parvati River. Here, you can relax in the warm, sulfur-rich waters of its natural hot springs.

Day 9 - Kasol

Day 10 - Manali

Shrines and Blue Skies

The final phase of your journey begins today in Manali, beautifully known as the Valley of Gods. This iconic hill station offers clear blue skies and a crisp, pure alpine atmosphere. After checking into your hotel, head out to the nearby Manali Market to explore and sample fresh local delicacies. Soon after, visit the historic Hadimba Devi Temple, also known as the Dhungari Temple. The entire shrine is expertly crafted out of wood, showcasing classic regional architecture. The rich history of the temple ties directly to the epic Mahabharata, and the structure is beautifully framed by towering oak and cedar trees.

Day 11 - Sissu

World’s Longest Tunnel and Clear Lakes

Your day begins with a scenic ride to Sissu, or as locals call it, Khwaling. The main highlight is the engineering marvel of the Atal Tunnel: a 9 km single-tube tunnel located above 3,048 m, making it the longest highway tunnel at this altitude in the world. After exiting the tunnel, enjoy the stunning beauty of the Lahaul valley. Stopping at a viewpoint at Sissu Lake, you can see the pristine light blue waters reflecting the nearby mountains. If you happen to visit during the peak season, the clear night skies offer an incredible opportunity for stargazing.

Day 12 - Sissu & Manali

Today is all about Sissu and its key highlights. Right after breakfast, you can walk around the village to experience the local lifestyle of this beautiful mountain community. Next, head over to the spectacular Sissu Waterfall. Both the lake and this waterfall freeze solid during winter, creating a mesmerizing scene. Next up is the Sissu Monastery, or Sissu Gompa. Here you can see traditional Tibetan-style architecture, colorful murals, and exceptionally warm hospitality. In the evening, enjoy a comfortable return ride to Manali.

On the final full day of your trip, you will make an early visit to the Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, also known as Manali Gompa. You can see a gorgeous backdrop of green mountains framing the structure, deepening the spirituality of this place. Next up is the Vashisht Temple, which features a natural hot spring, or Kund. You can take a relaxing dip here before leaving for Old Manali. This historic part of town features a lively market where you can hunt for unique local souvenirs.
